Rumi: Ecuadorian Transmedia Storytelling
This research project was developed as part of an undergraduate thesis project in the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. RUMI is a visual adaptation of ancestral South American visual culture based on traditional oral storytelling from Ecuadorian indigenous communities.
Visual applications such as branding, printed material, website and social media profiles were developed using concepts of andean visual composition. The adaptation was based on traditional knowledge from the Otavalo indigenous community in Northern Ecuador. The outcome of this project was a mini graphic novel based on stories from the Imbabura and Cotacachi volcanoes.
